West Gippsland Drive

Join us for a Saturday drive through the beautiful scenery of the western parts of Gippsland.  The route takes in great driving roads through the dramatic countryside.  We'll meet by 9.30am at Berwick BMW for a coffee and look around the showroom.  Then we'll depart at 10.00am with a rest stop around 11.20am.  We expect to finish on Phillip Island in plenty of time for lunch at 1.00pm.

• All food and drinks are at individual expense on the day.
• Please register in advance and include guest numbers to help us secure adequate seating at this lunch venue.

Registration closes on Thursday 19 March 2026
so that we can ensure enough space at the lunch restaurant.

We highly recommend you have a UHF radio with you on all our drives,
to be alerted to road hazards and for other communication.  We will use channel 17.

This is not just a BMW event, all brands are welcome. We want to raise an even bigger amount this year for this worthy appeal. Not just cars either - if you want to join us on your motorbike or even a push bike, we won't say no.  This is a day to raise much needed money for the children. 

It's time to bring out your pride and joy to help raise money for a more than worthy cause.   If you are a member of another car or bike enthusiast club, please feel free to share this link with them too. 

Raffle tickets will be sold on the day, with some great prizes to be won such as BMW lifestyle merchandise, vouchers from some of our generous sponsors and much more.  We may even have something from the Easter Bunny if you are lucky.

This year we will be doing a Coffee & Wheels day in Black Rock at our favourite coffee shop in Melbourne. Volunteers will be needed on the day to help with set up and also sell raffle tickets.  Please contact Jo on events@bmwdcm.com.au and let her know if you can help out in any way.

With outside covered partially sheltered seating (if its too cold/wet we can go inside) and car parking immediately by the outdoor seating. So we can see our cars as well as each other!

What’s it all about?

This is not a supersprint or a come‑and‑try day — it’s something much better.

Our Variety Stars on Track day is all about giving back. It’s about creating joy and unforgettable memories for families and children who face the daily challenges of illness. For one incredible day, we’ll come together at Sandown Raceway to lift spirits, share smiles, and show the power of community.

What we need:

• Drivers with a current Motorsport Australia Level 2 licence or above 
  If you do not have one, go here to obtain your Level 2 licence.
• Track‑worthy cars (road cars welcome!)
  A track-worthy car is a vehicle that is safe, reliable, and suitably prepared to be driven on a race track.  In practical terms, it usually means the car has sound mechanical condition (no fluid leaks, overheating, or reliability issues) and basic safety compliance (secure seats, seatbelts or harnesses, battery secured, no loose items) — check the Self Scrutiny form (linked below) for more information.
• Cars must have passenger seats with seat belts or harnesses
• Driver experience.
  Drivers must have driven Sandown at least once or be experienced on-track. Unfortunately, this event is not for those without track experience.
• Spare helmets (in or out of racing date)
  Not mandatory, but appreciated if you can bring them.
• Volunteers
  To help assist passengers and families. All volunteers MUST hold a current Working With Childrens Check. If you have not got one or yours does not include our club, please update or go here to obtain your WWCC. Then, let us know your commitment time and what area you will be best placed. If you can't help all day, that's totally fine! We appreciate any assistance you can give, for however long you can give it.

• Sponsors and supporters: Help us make this event bigger, brighter, and more impactful.

1920s Murder Mystery Presentation Dinner

Travel to the underworld of Chicago of the 1920's to find out who shot Vince "The Knife" Spagettelli.  Could it have been something to do with the robbery of the Capital Bank or the boss, Tyrone "The Shark" Grappa trying to keep control of the mob? 

Put on an old suit and a bad accent to become a gangster, a gangster's girlfriend or a crooked politician and swing along and have a fun filled night. 

Dress Theme 1920s or Formal 

Enjoy canapes and complimentary drinks while you mingle with the other suspects and then enjoy a scrumptious 2 course meal with free beer, wine and soft drinks.

We will still be doing our presentation of winners from 2025, just with a little Gangster style.

June 2026 - Kings Birthday LONG WEEKEND Trip to Echuca

Join us on a long weekend 3-day trip to Echuca.

Saturday 6 June: Meet at Yan Yean at 9.30am for a 10.00am departure.  Lunch is planned at Tahbilk Estate Restaurant, with some time to look around the historic winery.  Then we'll travel via a couple of historic towns to Echuca, with some time to relax or look around the town before dinner.

Sunday 7 June: A day in and around Echuca.  This extensive historic port area is a must-see; it was the freight transit point between the Murray River paddle steamers and the train to Melbourne.  The trip booklet will have a range of other options, both in and around the town, plus a couple of short drive options.

Monday 8 June: After a relaxed departure, return through some more historic towns, vineyards and a silo art display.

Accommodation is at Mercure Port of Echuca, phone 5482 5666.  This is within easy walking distance of the main features of Echuca.

The June long weekend is popular on the Murray River, so
early booking is strongly recommended.

Expresson of Interest !!!!!!

BMWDCM have been invited to compete again at Challenge Bathurst 2026. 

Please read to the bottom as this notice contains important information 

Challenge Bathurst is an invitation-only regularity event and we are very lucky to be invited to join in again for 2026.  This is a fantastic opportunity to tick off one of your bucket list items and drive on one of the best circuits in the world.  You only need a level 2 or above Motorsport Australia licence, you don't need to have a fully prepared race car - any vehicle that you use at a normal sprint day will be eligible as long as it is a BMW and passes scrutineering.

This year we will be joining with the Z Car Club QLD to fill their 55 spots.  This will avoid small group numbers and maintain better driving standars.

The cost is 2180 per entrant which will be payable through ZCCQLD.  Your spot will only be secured once full payment has been received. 

All paperwork will need to be returned completed to ZCCQLD as well.

All EOI received will be forwarded to ZCCQLD on the 1st April who will take over registration management and once an acceptance email has been received by you,  your deposit will need to be paid to ZCCQLD secure your spot.

Once the full payment is made to Challenge Bathurst, all refunds and cancellations are subject to Challenge Bathurst's cancellation policy.  

What is a Regularity ?

A regularity is a timed competition event, where you nominate a lap time which you need to try to match each lap.  This is not racing door to door, but allows you to drive at a pace that is comfortable for you and your car. 

We will also need to supply 10 flag marshalls to help on the Thursday and Friday.

 We need your help, so please ask your fellow club members to come along and help out.  Arrive early and volunteer as a flag marshal and help those who normally help you drive.   Please remember without volunteers you cannot have fun on the track, so this is your way of giving back.  All volunteers will be offered free camping.Accommodation is available at the Uni at a fee.

Any drivers volunteering on the Thursday and Friday will be able to go through scrutineering on Wednesday. 

 

This is available to all current members of all invited BMW Affiliated clubs.
